The Hoax Begins
Plug your ears and put down the remote because "Extra" has your exclusive look at "The WB's Superstar USA" -- an earsplitting singing competition where the gifted get slammed and the really bad receive rave reviews.
Rapper Tone Loc, Singer Vitamin C and bad boy TV producer Briggs are the stone-faced celebrity judges who make this outrageous hoax happen. The judges send 12 "so-called" singers to Hollywood to compete for a $100,000 record deal. Then, week after week, the leather clad Briggs hands out the compliments and critiques with his deadpan delivery.
"You're too old to be in a boy band, it's time to be in a man band," Briggs told one hopeful contestant. "I'd like to take you to dinner," he told another girl. "You're like a cooler version of Urkel. I think we should call you Kurkel," Briggs insisted to another contestant.
Get ready to laugh when "The WB's Superstar USA" makes its off-the-wall debut Monday night.
