Stars Shine in Cannes Sun
A reported 1,000 additional French police are
patrolling the scenic French seaport of Cannes, with a security
lock-down to combat the threat of terrorism. Gendarmes will
secure star safety for Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, as
they head to the South of France to promote "Troy"
at the annual film festival that's one of the hot spots
of international entertainment.
Will Smith and Angelina Jolie are also on
their way, for the animated film "Shark Tale," and "Extra"
greeted the arrival of this year's Festival Jury President,
"Kill Bill" writer and director Quentin Tarantino.
"If you love the cinema, this place
is heaven," Tarantino enthused. Quentin will also host
Charlize Theron and her new film with Geoffrey Rush, "The
Life and Death of Peter Sellers."
But there's bound to be some controversy
as well (this is France, after all), as Michael Moore heads
to the festival to screen his new film, "Fahrenheit 9/11,"
which criticizes President Bush's Iraq policy.
As a forum for world politics and a spotlight
for mega-watt stars, over the next 12 days, all roads lead
to Cannes.
