Leave The Keys, Turn Out the Lights
The final scene had those famous "Friends"
heading back to Central Perk for one last cup of coffee, and
it's no shocker -- an astounding national audience tuned in
for every moment of the grand goodbye.
More than 51 million people watched Ross
and Rachel's happy ending, Thursday night, a scene we've all
waited 10 years to see.
But there are quite a few unhappy TiVo users
out there today -- it seems that at the crucial moment where
Ross sees Rachel standing in his doorway, after she decided
to get off the plane, the show stopped and the "Delete
now?" screen popped up, leaving TiVo users without the
last five minutes of the series finale.
At least the six superstars were able to watch the ending
together, before appearing on "The Tonight Show"
with Jay Leno. Courtney Cox Arquette revealed to Jay that
she cried the most out of the group. And Jennifer Aniston
admitted, "I was fighting to hold it together, but I
let it out a lot."
In New York, Times Square became "Friends" Square
as hundreds of fans, including Aisha Tyler, who once played
Ross's girlfriend, watched the finale together. "Everybody
loves 'Friends,'" Tyler told us. "I was on the show
and I'm not jaded. I am still a huge fan."
Tyler also made some news, revealing to "Extra"
that she just shot a sitcom pilot produced by Lisa Kudrow.
"So I think I have 'Friends' to thank for everything.
Thanks 'Friends,' for my new car," Tyler laughed.
And some other famous "Friends" of the show shared
their feelings. "It was a great show," Ted Danson
insisted at Thursday night's Earth to LA event. "I TiVo'ed
it, I'm anxious to go home and watch it."
Julia Louis-Dreyfus told us that, while she knows how hard
it is to say goodbye to a huge hit show, her message for the
'Friends' is, "it's time to move on."
But after ten wonderful years of tears and laughs, the cast
and fans of the show are understandably having a hard time
saying goodbye to their "Friends." |
