'Star Wars' Mania
It's the hottest ticket on earth to the greatest
show in the galaxy and even the genius that created this space
monster has “Star Wars” mania. Whipping up all the cosmic
frenzy is the new George Lucas epic, “Star Wars: Episode II
- Attack of the Clones," the latest adventure in a unique
sci-fi trilogy that's become a phenomenon.
Excited "Star Wars" enthusiasts just can't
wait for George to send in the clones next month. In Seattle,
two guys have been camping out waiting for tickets since January
1st. Outside the legendary Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood,
a consortium of some 70 fans from all over the world have pitched
tents and are sharing shifts to get tickets to the first screening
May 16th. One says, “I swore I’d see it at the best movie theater
in the world."
George Lucas says, “When the first film came out, I had no idea
it would be successful at all."
On the eve of his latest triumph, the British film and TV academy
paid tribute to George at the 11th annual Britannia Awards.
Mira Sorvino was among the stars on hand to see the legendary
director reunited with original "Star Wars" idols Carrie Fisher
and Harrison Ford, who praised George’s greatest creation. Harrison
says, “It has great vitality after all these years."
George says, “The fact that it's endured so long and is so popular
is amazing to me."
And it looks like the force will be with George Lucas for a
long time to come.
