Penelope Cruz in Spain
Penelope Cruz is back in her homeland of Spain promoting the latest fragrance from Ralph Lauren and answering intimate questions about her relationship with Tom Cruise.
Speaking in her native tongue, Penelope shot down reports that she and her “Vanilla Sky” co-star have broken up and that she is pregnant. She said, “I haven’t married, I haven’t separated, I’m not pregnant. It's that every week there is another thing, another thing you have to take with humor or you go crazy.”
Rumors of a split heated up after Tom showed up solo at the Oscars, but Penelope explains after Tom opened the ceremony, they watched the Oscars together at Ben Affleck's house.
For nearly an hour, Penelope fielded questions on everything from the fighting in the Middle East, which she said makes her very nervous, to scientology, which she says she respects very much. Penelope was even asked whether she would like to get to know Tom's ex, Nicole Kidman. She said, “Of course. There is no problem there. And what is needed is not to intentionally create it and that it is handled delicately.”
Penelope then said she wishes the press would have more respect for her personal life. She said, “I, in reality, attempt to respect you. But if I don't want you to know about it, you won't.”
Penelope later explained that Tom wasn't with her in Spain because he was working in Los Angeles. But one thing's for sure, Cruz and Cruise continue to make news.
