Baldwin and Basinger's Divorce
They were a Hollywood golden couple that stunned fans by splitting, and while many thought Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger might reconcile, this time it's really over for good.
“Extra” has obtained court documents showing the two have obtained a divorce through bifurcation. That's the same legal route Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman recently took.
For Alec and Kim it means while they still have to divide their assets, they're free to marry again.
It was on the set of “The Marrying Man” that Alec and Kim began their stormy 10-year union. But now both are moving on personally and professionally. US Magazine senior editor Michael Lewittes says, “They've put their differences aside because they want the best for their daughter Ireland.”
Lewittes says while Baldwin recently guest starred on TV’s “Friends,” Basinger is going back to the movies. He says, “Kim Basinger is working on a movie called ‘8 Mile’ with rapper Eminem.”
While she plays his mother in the movie, rumors had Kim and Eminem dating in real life. Michael says, “The truth is they're not together.”
But Baldwin has been romantically busy. First it was “Sex and the City's” Kristin Davis, then reportedly Tatum O’Neal, and now Michael says, “My sources say he's dating a 20-something brunette.”
And he's planning some surprising projects. Michael says, “Alec Baldwin is working on a book about the difficulties of divorce and says he's like to do a film about designer Halston.”
