Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou melted hearts as the star of the quirky French film “Amelie” and it seems each day brings yet another critical compliment. Variety named her as "one to watch" and so did Movieline magazine. The doe-eyed brunette is already being compared to another beauty named Audrey. She says, “The only thing we have in common is the name.”
Always modest, this enchanting 24-year-old says it’s the filmmaking, not the fame that she loves. She says, “I don't have the ambition to be an international star.
Ambition or not, Audrey’s gained worldwide recognition, and most importantly more work. She just finished filming Miramax’s "Dirty Pretty Things" set in London. It is her first English language role. She says, “It was very tough because my English is not very good. Now it’s better, so you can imagine how it was.”
