'Idol' Insider: Simon Lives it Up
"American Idol's" British bully is
sounding off about Wednesday night's results show, where after
a record 28 million people voted, 16-year-old John Stevens
was sent packing after he received 4 million votes, the fewest
of the remaining "Idols."
But it was no surprise to Simon Cowell, who had braced the teen for the inevitable, and even complimented him after his mediocre Wednesday night performance, saying, "You have taken every bullet like a man, John."
Simon's take on Stevens leaving? "I think it was perfect timing," Simon told us. "I think it was good for the show."
Apparently, what's good for "American Idol" is good for Simon. VH1's new show, "The Fabulous Life of Simon Cowell," reveals that TV's bad guy lives a very good life. His estimated net worth is $80 million, and he's got a custom-built $380,000 Bentley and a home down the street from Elton John.
So is it all true? And does he really pay $500 for a haircut? Simon answered, "Give me a break?"
What about Randy's comments that Simon's in love with girlfriend
Terri Seymour? "I don't use the L-word," Cowell stated.
And is Simon a real fashion guru? After Diana DeGarmo's performance on Wednesday night, where he gave her singing a seven and her dress a zero, Cowell offered to take Diana dress shopping. Will he really take her? "If she really wants me to, I will take her to Rodeo Drive and we'll go wild," Simon insisted.
