'Idol' Judges Disappointed By Hudson's
Heave-ho
Is America going to get an "Idol"
recount? Don't bet on it.
"Extra" was first to report that
a power outage near Jennifer Hudson's hometown may have affected
her shocking "American Idol" vote-off this week,
but producers have told us that the show must go on. However,
questions are still swirling in "AI's" inner circle.
"I just think that it was wrong," Judge Randy Jackson
told us. "I think America's just really confused, I guess,
because they let go of one of thetop three of the 70,000 that
tried out, that's what was wrong with it. That's the real
travesty, that it's somebody great that you let go."
Jackson and Paula Abdul showed up together at the musical
"Tease," in Los Angeles, where Abdul revealed that
she has a history with Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband, Chris
Judd.
"I've hired Chris on many projects, video projects and
on stage, as well as running my dance camps," she told
us. "I used to hire him as a key instructor."
As for the historical significance of Hudson's departure,
Abdul and Jackson agreed that America needs to wise up. "Get
it right, just keep on voting for the great singers,"
Randy said. "It's about finding the greatest, talented
singer out there."
"It's time for somebody great to win," Paula insisted.
And "Extra" has also learned that "Idol"
producers may be looking for an encore performance from Barry
Manilow. "I think I might be coming back to the show,"
Manilow told us. "Who knows, maybe they'll invite me
back at the end." Manilow's "Idol" appearance
vaulted his new CD to number one on Amazon.com and garnered
great ratings for the show.
But for now, it's up to fans to determine which "American
Idol" will be there to see Manilow's return. For more
"Idol" news, don't miss Friday's edition of "Extra."
