The Long Goodbye Begins

The "Friends" cast is crying a river this Thursday, and only "Extra" has your sneak peek at what's causing those tears, as the most memorable bunch of "Friends" start saying goodbye.

Thursday night, Jennifer Aniston drops the first hint of her "au revoir," revealing that she’s been offered a phenomenal job… in Paris. The episode also begins to lay the groundwork for Matt LeBlanc’s spin-off series.

It appears the premise for the new series involves Joey being left alone after all his old "Friends" move on. "Too much is changing," Joey complains in Thursday’s episode. "Phoebe’s getting married and then these two (Monica and Chandler) are moving to a stupid home in the stupid suburbs!"

As for the upcoming finale, series creators and writers, David Crane and Marta Kauffman, reveal the finale is so sad, they initially couldn’t even write it.

"Everyone just went to pieces," Crane told us. "If there wasn't work to do I think we would have completely fallen apart," Kauffman added. "People would just suddenly burst into tears."

And you can start saying goodbye with first of the final three episodes of "Friends," which airs Thursday night.
