Could Apprentice Bill Have Been 'The Bachelor'

Before he tried to woo Donald Trump, Bill Rancic was a regular Don Juan. Only "Extra" has Bill’s casting call for a romantic reality show that never got off the ground. In it, Bill is very candid about what he’s looking for in a woman.

"I want to have someone I can spend the rest of my life and share things with," he says on the tape. "I want to marry for love."

Bill also talks about his high standards. "The more attractive the better," he insists. "I'm all about looks. I like hot girls."

So, has the "Apprentice" cigar salesman ever had a one-night stand? "Yes," he replies, but adds, "I’m not proud of it."

Bill’s audition tape ended up on the desk of "The Bachelor" producers, who chose Bill as a finalist for the hit ABC show -- but Bill ended up losing out to Andrew Firestone.

Firestone got the job, but lost the girl. And ironically, Bill is now dating Jen Schefft, who Firestone chose during season three of "The Bachelor" and then lived with in San Francisco following the show.

We caught up with Bill and his family Thursday night, where his mom, Gayle, voiced her confidence about "The Apprentice" finale. "It’s going to be, ‘You’re hired!'" she insisted.

But Bill learned one thing from his reality auditions: you never kiss and tell -- and he’s putting that lesson into effect about tonight: "You’ll just have to watch to see what happens, because I’m not talking."
