Idol Insider: Can Amy Take It on the Chin?

Judge Simon Cowell's backhanded compliment to "Idol" hopeful Amy Adams was definitely not a good luck charm.

"I know who you remind me of Jay Leno," Cowell told Adams after she sang Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, Adams received the lowest number of votes, and was forced to give her swan song performance as the third person voted out of the final 12. But today she can laugh about it: Jay himself turned Cowell’s crack into a skit on his late-night show.

Amy told us before the finals began that she would never cry foul if she lost, saying, "I believe in myself, and I hope America believes too."

America may not have believed, but Adams told her "Idol" audience that they haven't seen the last of her. "I’m not going to go away," she insisted.

So until we meet again, so long Amy Leno.
