Meryl Streep
Hollywood's biggest night is just five days away, but Oscar nominee Meryl Streep is already a winner. The 13-time Oscar nominee took top honors as More magazine gave Meryl the first ever Alpha Woman award in Beverly Hills Monday.
In her speech, Meryl said, "I wondered if next year I’d be bumped down to beta."
The award recognizes successful, spirited women over the age of 40. Only "Extra" sat down with Streep at the star-studded event where her thoughts were already on Oscar night. She says, "I am in a spin. And oh, what a spin I’m in with what to wear, because that's the whole deal. People forget about the movies and the performances, it's all about that thing."
Up this year for her supporting role in "Adaptation," the two-time Oscar winner is one of Hollywood’s most decorated and respected stars. Debra Messing says, "She is just it. I nearly started to weep and break down at the SAG Awards when I spoke to her."
About being so highly respected, Meryl says, "I know how I felt about the people that inspired me. If I have that, any half of that effect on other people, I’m glad."
