'8 Mile'
Detroit rock city was more like a rap city Thursday night. Eminem and Mekhi Phifer were on hand at the "8 Mile" DVD release party where aspiring rappers squared off in a lyrical battle.
In "8 Mile," Eminem got the opportunity of a lifetime and made the most of it, taking his one shot and surprising everyone by bringing in more than $120 million at the box office. He even earned an Oscar nomination for Best Song.
Now Eminem is giving it a second shot with the DVD release. The DVD dishes out several special features, from interviews and behind-the-scenes footage to an exclusive look at Eminem's new music video, "Superman."
The disc also has never-before-seen rap battles between audience extras and Eminem that were supposed to be rehearsals, but sometimes turned a little too personal. Eminem says, "People are like booing and jeering when they're supposed to be cheering. It was like, hold on a minute, this is like a real battle. These people have rhymes wrote for me."
Your first shot at the "8 Mile" DVD is March 18th.
