Monica Bellucci
From steaming up the Paris dance floor to surviving the hostile African jungle, sexy Italian knockout Monica Bellucci delivers a one-two punch at the box office this weekend. She says, "This is the best situation for an actress, to fly from one character to another."
It's an action-packed flight for the sultry 34-year-old model-turned-actress, starring as the stranded missionary doctor in the Bruce Willis thriller, "Tears of the Sun." She explains, "I am there because I follow my heart and he is there because someone told him to be there."
But fasten your seat belts for the shockingly graphic French film, "Irreversible," also opening this weekend in Los Angeles and New York. Monica says, "When you walk away from the film, you think about it."
In the riskiest role of her career, Monica plays a woman brutally attacked and left for dead in an underground tunnel. Nearly 200 people walked out of the violent movie at last year's Cannes Film Festival. Monica says, "Even today when I see the scene, I am disturbed because the film is violent."
But don't look for this beautiful bombshell, who made her American film debut as a topless vampire in Bram Stoker's "Dracula," to shy away from controversy. Next, she is tackling major roles like bringing the sinner Mary Magdalene back to life in Mel Gibson’s "The Passion" and starring as a sci-fi vixen in two "Matrix" sequels. Monica says, "I just arrived in America, so for me it's great to have all those interesting projects."
