Mystery Reporter: Bill Brochtrup
There's a fight about to break out on the set of “NYPD Blue,” but director and executive producer Mark Tinker says these uppercuts are all for the cameras. He explains, “This is a grudge match where Mark-Paul (Gosselaar) boxes an officer from downstairs in the precinct.”
Bill Brochtrup plays John Irwin on the show, but he went ringside to play reporter for “Extra,” interrogating his cast mates for some series secrets.
Tinker was able to give Bill some good information about the future of the show. He says, “Mark-Paul Gosselaar's character, detective John Clark, is heading for a new romance outside the ring. Some heat is generated between Mark Paul and Jackie Obradors.”
Meanwhile our ringside reporter refused to let Sipowicz off the ropes. He asked Dennis Franz whether or not Mark-Paul will win the boxing match? Dennis says, “Well, since I know the script, I’m not going to give it away.”
