Meet 'The Bachelor'
He had to be good-looking, smart and single. After all, he was going to be the star of the new ABC series, "The Bachelor.”
So who is this mystery man? Alex Michel, a 31-year-old consultant from San Francisco was picked to wine, dine, and date 25 single women all in six weeks.
“When I found out about the show I said this is for me, it’s tailor made for me,” Michel told “Extra.”
Countless men across the country thought so too. So how did Alex beat the competition?
Creator Mike Fleiss says, “What we were looking for was a guy that you'd want to set your sister up on a date with. A guy who is a really great catch.”
Fleiss seems to be confident. Alex's pedigree is proof, he went
to Harvard and Stanford. Now he's got six weeks to find Miss
Right. Of his dream partner, Michel says, “I’m looking for someone
who is beautiful, smart, good sense of humor, adventurous, and
ready to take this step.”
Even Alex admits the thought of finding a soul mate in little over a month is nerve-wracking. He says, “It's a huge step. I’ve been a bachelor for a long time and I haven’t hated it.”
He does have the support of his parents, who had their own whirlwind
romance. Now Alex has so many women and so little time. Can
he handle the pressure? He says, “I’m wondering how much can
I take. Am I going to get exhausted by trying to be charming
every single day? It will be hard work.”
But someone's got to do it, right Alex?
