Bring Hung Home

He's banging out the hits and packing in the crowds from coast to coast. William Hung, everyone’s favorite "American Idol" reject has become a fan phenomenon, and now you can take him home.

William Hung, a.k.a. "The Hong Kong Ricky Martin," releases his debut album next month. But when we played three songs off of Hung’s CD for surly "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell, his blunt reaction was: "Every track is awful. It's unmistakable. It's just awful."

"Extra" also sat down with Hung, who shared with us what his first single will be. No surprises here: "’She Bangs,’ of course." And Hung’s album also includes his cover of another Ricky Martin chart topper: "Shake Your Bon Bon."

Hung’s success seems to have left Cowell shaken and feeling a bit guilty. "Sorry William, you're a nice guy but you are one hell of a bad singer, mate," he told us. "The world has gone mad, and I feel slightly responsible, so America, I apologize."

But apparently the fans have a different verdict -- especially the ladies. "Extra's" learned that Hung’s newfound fame has done wonders for his love life. We checked out his official web site, where dozens of gorgeous girls proposed marriage.

"I'm not sure they generally want to marry me," Hung responded. "But that shows a lot of love either way."

Along with his luck with ladies and new record deal, Hung is also considering a movie offer and will appear soon in his own music video and a Wal-Mart commercial.

For more William Hung, don’t miss Tuesday’s edition of "Extra."
