Star Justice: Whitney and the 3-Divas; Patric
Pummeled?
It's called the "Ladies First Tour,"
but recent rehab patient Whitney Houston was
not performing with Beyoncé, Alicia
Keys and Missy Elliot Sunday night
in Atlanta. Instead, the superstar singer was in the audience,
apparently on a field trip from her secluded rehab, and was
cheered by shocked music fans as she slipped into her seat near
the stage.
The troubled star began treatment for substance abuse just two
weeks ago. Now her mother, Cissy Houston, is planning a prayer
vigil for Monday night in Harlem, asking Houston’s fans to pray
for her daughter’s "healing and deliverance."
Elsewhere, "Alamo" actor Jason Patric
is in his own battle and there’s no movie set this time. In
a video taken from an Austin, Texas, police patrol vehicle just
up the road from Saturday night's San Antonio premiere of "The
Alamo," Patric can be seen in the midst of a large group
of people gathered at an intersection.
The actor was in the middle of the street talking with officers.
That’s when cops got more physical. In an affidavit obtained
by "Extra," police claim, "Patric assumed an
aggressive stance."
But did the cops go too far? Patric, who was arrested for public
intoxication and resisting arrest, said the Austin cops seriously
injured him. In a statement, the star denies any wrongdoing:
"He was passively standing on the street corner when the
police officer lunged at him. The officer threw him to the ground
and attempted to smash his head onto the concrete. Jason was
not intoxicated and asked to be given a breathalyzer test."
No test was ever given, and police released Patric, who was
then treated for his injuries at an Austin hospital. |
