Star Sightings: Nice Work
Nicole Kidman was shining at the New York premiere of her new drama "Dogville," a film shot entirely in a studio with minimum props. Kidman told "Extra" the role presented challenges she could not refuse: "I suppose it just goes back to the purity of being an actor where you just say gosh, I'm here for the adventure; I supposed unless it's going to be an adventure I'm really not that interested."
Among Kidman's upcoming adventures in movie-making will be starring as Samantha in a big screen version of the 1960's sitcom, "Bewitched." "I grew up watching ‘Bewitched,’ so now I have to try to honor Elizabeth Montgomery, you know and step into her shoes."
Will Ferrell will play Samantha's mortal husband, Darrin, and Oscar-winner Shirley MacLaine will play his wicked witch mother-in-law, Endora. "So many people said to me, ‘Oh my God, it would be so good if you could get Shirley MacLaine,’ and I said, ‘We'll never get her,’" laughed Nicole. "I always think we'll never get anybody, and I'm so glad she's doing it."
The Celebrity Mule Train just keeps running, and running and running. Multi-Oscar winner Tom Hanks and multi-talented wise guy Marlon Wayans led the so-called "Celebrity Mule Train" at the New York premiere of their new crime caper comedy "The Ladykillers."
The film was written and directed by the wonderfully wacky Coen
brothers, who described Hanks' character in it as, "kind
of a cross between Colonel Sanders and Buffalo Bill Cody."
"The Ladykillers" opens Friday.
"Friends" star, Matt LeBlanc hit
the Los Angeles premiere of the rock documentary "Mayor
of the Sunset Strip," where LeBlanc broke news about his
"Friends" spin-off, "Joey," telling "Extra"
that work on the series has begun.
"We cast one character and do a pilot in April," Leblanc tells us. "The script is fantastic."
