Will Kimberly Have a 'Locke' on the Pop Charts?
She was Rueben and Clay's fiercest competition on last season's "American Idol," and even though she didn’t make the final cut, 26-year-old Kimberly Locke from Tennessee is now joining the singing sensations on the pop charts.
"Extra" joined Locke for an exclusive look at her album cover photo-shoot, where she told us how it feels to be in the spotlight, "It does feel different because there's not five other girls waiting to get in the chair. It's all about me right now."
Locke may have only made it to the top three, but when "Idol" ended last season, she landed a recording deal with the same label that backs LeAnn Rimes. Kim’s first single, "Eight World Wonder," debuted this month.
Of course, there’s also a makeover to debut as well. "Now I have bangs," Locke showed us. "I haven't had bangs since junior high."
But that's not all she's cut. Locke lost 20 pounds of her full figure, and now works out with a trainer. In a recent People magazine article, she revealed her trimmed-down torso.
"I'm not in it for just one moment," Kim insisted. "I'm in it for the long haul, and I'm in it for longevity."
