What Will Rehab Mean for Whitney's Family?
Her mother is getting help, her father is serving time, so who will stay with 10-year-old Bobbi Kristina? People magazine breaks new ground on Whitney Houston’s rehab in its upcoming issue, and Assistant Managing Editor Peter Castro tells us that Houston’s mother will likely take care of Bobbi.
"Cissy Houston, her mother, is always there for her and she'll probably take over caring for Bobbi Kristina now," Castro reveals.
People also reports that, according to a fan, Houston was so disoriented at her 40th birthday party that the star had a hard time taking off her jacket. And according to another published report, Houston went into rehab after half a dozen caring family members held an emergency intervention.
Although a Malibu rehab center is known specifically for treating celebrities, according to a published report, Houston checked herself into a more low-key facility, possibly in the Midwest.
So is all this too much for Houston and Bobby Brown’s marriage to survive? Houston has always vowed to stand by her man, but it’s no secret the marriage has had it share of ups and downs. In fact, an old family friend, Kevin Skinner, tells us that it is no coincidence Houston got help while Brown was doing time for his parole violation.
"I think Bobby Brown being locked up kind of helped her," Skinner tells us. "Her co-dependency is locked away."
However, the couple have indeed managed to stayed together -- through thick and thin -- for well over 10 years, and according to sources, the marriage will survive for now.
