Not 'A Good Thing' for Stewart
After five weeks in court and three days of deliberations, the verdict is in for Martha Stewart - guilty.
Reporters ran from the court in New York City this afternoon holding signs signaling the guilty verdicts. The domestic diva had been charged with four criminal counts, involving conspiracy, making false statements, and obstruction of justice for her sale of ImClone stock.
Throughout the trial, Martha’s arrivals at court became media events and they were peppered with celebrity support for Martha -- from Rosie O'Donnell to Bill Cosby to her old friend Brian Dennehy.
Next up for Martha is the sentencing phase, scheduled to start June 17th. The maximum sentence she faces is 20 years in federal prison, though she'll likely face much less time under federal guidelines.
She could be sent to any federal prison in the country, but the most likely facility is in Danbury, Connecticut -- close to her current home.
