Ellen DeGeneres Leads the Way with 12 Nominations
It was an early morning mishap, as the nominees for Best Talk Show were announced: "Dr. Phil," "Regis and Kelly," "The View," "The Wayne Brady Show." So what happened to Ellen DeGeneres?
The new Queen of Daytime actually picked up 12 nominations, including Best Talk Show and Best Host, for her new hit "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." "Days of our Lives" star Bryan Dattilo says he just forgot to announce the new kid on the block.
"She's never going to have me on the show now," Dattilo said. "I've burned my bridges. I'm sorry, Ellen. I apologize."
And as the jury determines her fate, Martha Stewart was awarded six nominations, including Best Service Show and Host. The late John Ritter picked up a nod for the animated series, "Clifford: The Big Red Dog."
But the leader of the pack was "The Young and the Restless." The CBS soap picked up 16 nominations, including Best Daytime Drama.
