Michael Jackson and the Medicine Man

Michael Jackson has put his life in the hands of a controversial new guru. "Extra" was first to tell you about Dr. Sebi, now we uncover the kind-looking herbologists checkered past.

Us Weekly West Coast Editor Ken Baker tells "Extra" that his magazine exposes Jackson’s relationship with Sebi in the upcoming issue. And according to the magazine, Jackson wants Sebi to help him detox.

"This choice has raised a lot of eyebrows," Baker reveals. "(Jackson) has flown Sebi up to Aspen, where he is staying, and is paying him a fortune to help him kick his habits."

Sebi reportedly also worked with Eddie Murphy’s stepfather and TLC’s Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. The singer was actually visiting the doctor in Honduras when she died in a tragic car accident.

We've also learned that Sebi was arrested in the 80's and ordered to stop practicing medicine. But that hasn't stopped him from marketing an herb he promises cures everything from obesity to AIDS.

Word is that Jackson is working with Sebi at Michael’s $125,000-a-month rented Aspen mansion. This is just another debt for the superstar, who is facing a slew of lawsuits and questions about his finances -- including a new lawsuit, reported by the TV show "Celebrity Justice," brought by a web designer who claims Jackson never paid his bill.
