Jessica Simpson Sets the Record Straight
The Hollywood honeymoon is just getting started for this beautiful young "Newlywed." With a number one top-40 single this week and an ABC sitcom now in the works, Jessica Simpson is officially a big-time show business player.
"I'm feeling really good," Simpson said. "Nick and I just got back from Cabo San Lucas. We had to take a break because we were dying. We needed to be alone without cameras."
"Extra" caught up with Simpson in New York Tuesday, where she's promoting her re-released and expanded CD, "In This Skin," and she wanted to clear up the truth about some rumors.
Rumor number one: Fame is getting in the way of the couple’s marriage.
False: "That's the craziest rumor I've ever heard," Simpson said.
Rumor number two: Jessica is pregnant.
False: "No bun in the oven," Simpson insists.
Rumor number three: In her primetime ABC comedy she’s developing, Jessica will play a TV newsmagazine correspondent, and she’s researching the role.
Too soon to tell: "I’m not allowed to (look into the role) yet," she revealed. "I think they just want me to talk because, somehow, something bad ends up coming out and it's good somehow."
Meanwhile, Simpson also wants fans to know she and Nick are doing a variety special airing April 11th on ABC. "It’s going to be a Sonny-and-Cher type of show," Simpson revealed. "Maybe we’ll sing ‘I Got You Babe.’"
Goofy and gorgeous, Simpson is laughing her way to the bank.
