Stars Laud Nicole’s Charity Work
Nicole Kidman is no stranger to Hollywood awards. But Monday night, she got what may have been the most personal and emotional honor of her life.
In front of stars, including Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Christina Aguilera and Lisa Kudrow, a visibly touched Kidman was honored for her work for the Women's Cancer Research Fund.
Kidman is no stranger to the struggle of cancer. Her mother is a survivor. "I was privy to the pain and suffering at a very early age," Nicole revealed. "I think that never leaves you."
Kidman is also still feeling emotional from the Oscars, where the world watched her beam as her "Cold Mountain" costar, Renée Zellweger, won an Oscar.
"It was fantastic because we'd made this film together," Kidman said. "To sit in the audience and watch it come full circle -- it was beautiful."
Monday’s event was sponsored by the Entertainment Industry Foundation. And Steven Spielberg, always the director, said Kidman was the perfect honoree: "She is natural casting, and we’re so grateful she said yes."
Lisa Kudrow attended the event, and only to "Extra" did she reveal where all of the "Friends" will be for the last episode: "We'll all be together at some kind of an event."
Start your speculation -- and don’t miss the final episode of "Friends."
