P. Diddy at Fashion Week
Think "Men In Black" meets "The Matrix" and you get an idea of what Sean John’s P. Diddy Combs wants men to wear next fall. He says, "It's a warrior type of vibe."
Think leather ruffled panties and dominatrix divas and you get an idea of what Mr. Combs wants the ladies to not wear. He says, "I think I overdid it a little bit."
Before P. Diddy wowed New York's Fashion Week crowd this weekend with another spectacular show, "Extra" was with him in the final days and hours as three months of preparation came down to last minute problems.
Puffy checked every detail, from the clothes to the lighting to the music and videos, refusing to reveal his huge production-costs. But we hear the invitations alone, which came attached to a stylish Sean John shirt, set him back $75,000. He says, "It's an expensive show, but it's worth it."
The hip-hop bon vivant was filled with nervous energy as his 800 guests arrived, including his modeling mother Janice, music stars Macy Gray and Mary J. Blige, soap stud Mark Consuelos and his very pregnant wife Kelly Rippa.
Kelly Osbourne also made the scene along with her camera shy sister, Aimee, who hit the show for one reason: male models.
As for Mr. Combs, he has many reasons to be proud these days. He's up for a Grammy and last week he signed a distribution deal with Universal Records. But if you're wondering how this man of many names and talents remains so successful, just ask super-male model Tyson Beckford. He says, "All that he's been through, and all that he's trying to do, you got to love the guy because he doesn't give up."
