Philip
Michael Thomas to Sue Psychic Reader's Netowork
"Miami Vice" was the 80’s show. Hot bodies,
cool clothes and even cooler cops ruled the airwaves. As Ricardo
Tubbs, Philip Michael Thomas roamed the south Florida coast
catching crooks. Now, in his real life, the actor is looking
for something much more personal.
And he wants it from the Psychic Reader's Network.
Like many others, Thomas is suing the company that put Miss
Cleo on the air, because before Miss Cleo, there was Philip
Michael Thomas. He says, "When I first got involved with this
network, I was a multi-millionaire. I had everything you could
want from Rolls Royce’s to houses to recording studios."
With his vision to help others, the former
youth minister was hired as the network's spokesperson. He signed
a deal guaranteeing him a cut of every dollar spent by callers
responding to his highly produced infomercials. But attorney
Willie Gary says his client was never paid as promised. He says,
"They basically cheated Philip. They used his good will, his
good name, and they made a lot of money."
We were turned away on our visit to the Psychic Reader's Network
corporate offices. But in an exclusive phone interview, Peter
Stolz, the president of the company, seemed unconcerned about
the lawsuit, calling Thomas, "a flake ... a space cadet."
Gary says, "I'll tell you what. We bust them for half a billion
to a billion dollars, they're going to feel it."
Sounds like Philip Michael Thomas has another partner he can
count on.
