Simon vs. Sharon

It's Simon vs. Sharon. Sharon Osbourne welcomed Simon Cowell to her show with the introduction: "My next guest thinks that my daughter is fat, not talented, that the Osbournes are over, and that my husband faked an accident to get a number one single."

Notorious "American Idol" judge Cowell received a lukewarm welcome as he hit the Sharon Osbourne stage, and only "Extra" was there as the two brash Brits came face to face for the first time.

But Mr. Mean showed a softer side when he actually apologized for his comment about Ozzy and the accident that broke his back. "I apologize for everything, everything I used to say and everything I will say," Cowell said.

On hearing of Ozzy’s ATV accident, Cowell had quipped that at least the metal-musician might experience a rise in record sales. Simon told Sharon he hadn’t realized the extent of the accident: "Someone told me that he had fallen off a quad bike so I thought it was the same thing as falling off a chair," Simon explained. "I swear, I had no idea!"

After making up, the two talked about Kelly, but here Cowell held his ground. "I can’t call her cute," he said of Sharon’s daughter.

When Cowell asked Osbourne if she had any beauty tips for his stunning girlfriend, Terry, Sharon gave Simon a taste of his own medicine: "I'll tell you what I would do; I'd introduce her to another man."
