The Best of Times and the Worst of Times
Wednesday night America voted on the weakest class of "Idols" ever. Hawaiian "Idol" Camille made it through to the next round, but husky Matt was the real surprise after a sub-par performance on Tuesday night.
Simon Cowell came to "Extra’s" studio with a message to his "Idols:" "They have been absolutely horrible. It is an abysmal group, and if they can’t perform, they are going home."
Concerning the buzz that his co-judges Randy and Paula are the mean ones this year, Simon says it might be true, but tells us they have their reasons: "You have to remember, for two years they've had absolutely nothing interesting to say."
As for his judgement about their "Simonizing:" "They just don't do it as well, do they?" Simon insists. "I'm funny they're not."
Speaking of funny, what does Simon think about William Hung -- also known as the "’She Bangs’ guy"—who’s been offered a $25,000 record contract by Fuse Music Television? "Why would you give him $25,000 to sing," snapped Simon. "I’d give him $25,000 to shut up."
"We shouldn't really be celebrating that there's bad singers," Cowell admonishes. "Now we have to worry about people coming in and trying to be bad."
Cowell also revealed that he has a few secret projects brewing. "I can only tell you that it will blow you away."
Hopefully this year's "American Idol" winner will have as much luck.
