Charlize Theron

Only "Extra" got the inside information at Charlize Theron’s private party, from how she's dying for a comedy role to why she is madly in love with Irish actor Stuart Townsend.

Theron and "Monster" director Patty Jenkins were definitely in the mood to party Tuesday night, after the blonde beauty captured the Santa Barbara International Film Festival's top acting award.

Even Santa Barbara’s own Rob Lowe surprised Theron, and praised her Golden Globe acceptance speech. Lowe said, "You got it, and you killed it."

Theron is not yet 30, and has already delivered the performance of a lifetime.

But during filming, Theron's own life made headlines when she revealed that as a teenager, she witnessed her mother shoot her abusive father in self-defense. Theron says, "I hoped in talking about it once in a very honest way it would kind of put that to rest, and people would kind of go now we know what happened and move on."

Now Theron is moving on to Oscar night later this month. So who'll be her lucky date? Theron says, "I would be disowned if I didn’t take my mother, and she can kick my ass. And I'm going to take Stuart because he's hot. That's all it takes."
