Ryan Seacrest
Ryan Seacrest is on the clock. He first appeared Thursday morning on "The Today Show" and "Regis and Kelly." Then it was off to "American Idol 3" and the premiere of his own entertainment talk show, "On Air with Ryan Seacrest."
But amidst all the excitement comes one serious controversy. Today, Seacrest sat down with Katie Couric to discuss the reports that MTV's "Total Request Live" is playing hardball.
Couric said Thursday morning, "It's been reported that they've told musical guests if you do Ryan Seacrest’s show, don't even think about doing ours."
MTV denied the reports, and Seacrest says that if it is true, it would only be bad for the music business. Seacrest said, "It would be a shame for any of us to make threats like that considering the state of the industry right now. This is just another outlet for artists to come and promote their product."
But Seacrest says he is ready to go live. He says, "The good thing about the show is that it is guest driven, celebrity driven, but it's also a very fan-centric show where we're going to let the fans have access."
"On Air with Ryan Seacrest" air Monday on FOX.
