Jeff Goldblum
It's just a movie, but Jeff Goldblum says his latest role as a modern-day war correspondent affected him as profoundly as actually being in a real battle zone. He says, "And the nature of this life and death existence they have has interested me more in the human and spiritual aspect of living each moment for the now."
The star of the NBC TV movie "War Stories" says it was an education in "the hellish nature of war," complete with a terrifying encounter with a terrorist leader modeled after the dreaded Osama bin Laden himself.
Jeff says he became so engrossed in his part that, "When the news comes on I’m interested in a different way than before."
But it seems that Goldblum also has some other "friends" at NBC. Joining the ranks of Brad Pitt, Tom Selleck And Bruce Willis, Jeff will take his turn on "Friends." He explains, "I play this Broadway director and the star in this upcoming show. Joey comes in to audition and he's not so good."
"Wars Stories" airs Wednesday night and Goldblum shows up at the Central Perk next month.
