American Music Awards

The 30th annual American Music Awards rocked Monday night in Los Angeles. Foul-mouthed rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his family hosted the show from the Shrine Auditorium, and kept the network censors busy with an unprecedented 762 bleeps.

But the fun really started with Sharon’s opening banter with former pop sweethearts Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. Sharon said to Britney, "I'm going to take him Britney. He's all mine."

Tim McGraw and sir Elton John wowed audiences with their "Tiny Dancer" duet. Christina Aguilera belted out a ballad in a gorgeous gown. But the real rap was about the winners, and the biggest ones were MIA.

Best male artist Eminem cleaned up with four awards, but didn't show up. Other absentee winners The Dixie Chicks and Creed also won two awards apiece.

But newcomer Ashanti was there and took home her very first pair of awards. She said afterwards, "It's a very prestigious award so it's a great night."
