Noelle Bush Arrested
It’s another embarrassment for America’s first family. The president's 24-year-old niece, Noelle Bush, was arrested and charged with prescription fraud. According to several reports, Noelle went to a Walgreens drug store in Tallahassee and tried to pass a forged prescription for the anti-anxiety pill Xanax.
Just hours before the President's State of the Union address, Noelle's father, Florida governor Jeb Bush, faced reporters. He made no mention of his daughter's arrest, but released a written statement saying he's "deeply saddened" and asking for privacy.
Of course this is not the Bush family's first brush with the law. The President himself was arrested for drunk driving back in 1976. Noelle's twin cousins, Jenna and Laura Bush have both been busted for underage drinking. And in 1999, Noelle’s mother, Columba Bush, publicly apologized after she was caught by customs officials trying to sneak $19,000 worth of Paris goods into the country.
In the past, Jeb and Columba bush have admitted that one of their children had problems with drugs. Now, they are forced to publicly confront this family secret.
