Palm
m125
My mom has been trying to get me organized
for the last 24 years. My boss has been attempting the same
thing since he hired me. I’ve been given calendars, organizers,
notebooks, and post-its, but none has done the trick.
Then someone handed me the Palm m125.
Within a week I was jotting down notes, storing phone numbers,
and setting the date book to remind me to do things. What
my mom couldn’t accomplish my whole life with all the guilt
in the world, Palm did in seven days.
Address book, note pad, date book, document reader (Word,
Excel, e-books, etc.), alarm clock and offline web browser
… all rolled into one handy 4.9 oz., wallet-size, little gadget.
Speaking of wallets, just buy a leather case for $30 at the
Palm store and you can replace your wallet in your pocket
with your Palm. My wallet has never reminded me about a lunch
meeting. Ever.
Ok,
enough with the work functions. Now for the fun stuff. There
are so many fun games you can download to play on your Palm.
They’ve got tank games, billiards, air hockey, chess, solitaire,
tennis and more. Two words: Dope Wars. Don’t ask, just get
it. These games are great for passing time on the bus or in
an airport.
Want access to restaurant reviews, news, and sports scores?
Don’t worry, just install AvantGo and you can download your
favorite web pages to look at whenever and wherever you want.
On the downside, the m125 doesn’t have a color monitor. I’ve
seen the m505 (see review) and the
color monitor is pretty cool, but far from a necessity. Also,
this model takes AAA batteries, unlike some of the higher
models that have a built-in rechargeable battery.
So all in all I fully recommend the m125 as a good PDA to
get you organized. If it can work for me, it can work for
anyone.
