Disastrous
Weddings
Friday
July 20, 2001
It
was a storybook beginning. But Felicia and Ricky
Lehr stopped smiling when the big day arrived.
Felicia says, You should not have these
kind of memories of your wedding day. The cake
was wrong, the invitations were wrong, the flowers
were wrong."

Mother,
Lynn Manuel is griping too about what the proud parents
got for their sixteen grand and what she believes some
of her one hundred thirty guests got. She says, People
reported cramping, diarrhea and vomiting."
According to the report, food poisoning is part of the
lawsuit just filed by the unhappy couple to get their
money back. At least 20 percent of the guests interviewed
by the county health department got sick.

Consider hiring a professional Wedding Coordinator
Discuss the budget and who will pay for
what AHEAD of time
Make arrangements with the officiator and
reserve the wedding and reception locations well
ahead of time
Meet with the florist, photographer, caterer,
videographer, DJ and other
outside vendors well in advance to discuss budget
and options
Buy a wedding planner and envelopes to
store brochures and notes. Develop
a record keeping system for invitations, gifts,
thank you notes, etc.
ORGANIZATION is key.

Lynn says, "They suspect the salad dressing.
So who is to blame for such a mess?
Bonnie and Gary Luther, co-owners of the Christian wedding
planning center.
Bonnie says, "I have nothing to say to you."
But Luther had plenty to say. He claimed to know nothing
about the lawsuit and defended his right to keep the Lehr's
pictures and videotape until the dispute is settled. He
says, "We're twenty-six years in business, we're
not just off the turnip truck."
No, they're not. In fact there have been so many customer
complaints that the better business bureau rates the company
as "unsatisfactory."
Extra asks, "So in twenty-six years, you guys have
never made any mistakes?
Gary says, Mistakes? I am done talking to you."
Felicia and Ricky think they made a big mistake and hope
others can learn from their experience. Felicia says,
"I really don't want this to happen to anybody else."
