When
it comes to romance, daytime TV actors sure know
how to make a scene. When they're between the
sheets they sure make it look real. So how do
they do that? EXTRA exposes the naked truth.
In
a car... on a plane... even on a chair
daytime
soaps have been steaming up TV screens for more
than 50 years. Sure they're actors but how do
they make love in the afternoon look so real?
Director
Maria Wagner says it's because each arousing moment
is choreographed. Every touch, every look, every
movement has to be directed. And while you might
think most of the hot and heavy love making is
just acting, Kelley Menighan Hensley who plays
the sexy Emily Stewart on "As The World Turns"
told us, that's not always the case.
She
says giggling, "You really kiss them."
But
how do on screen lovers keep from being aroused?
She says, "Your brain doesn't go there. It's
not about that. It would be so weird if it was."
But Kristoff St. John of the "Young and The
Restless" recalls the time his body didn't
listen to his brain and instead lived up to the
show's reputation.
He remembers, "I actually got excited in
bed. They called cut and wanted me to get out
of bed to go do another scene. I said guys, 'I
can't'. They said, 'why not?' I said 'you got
to understand, something came up.'"
Aside
from strategically placed covers... how do they
keep from revealing too much skin while rolling
in sheets? Kelly says, "These are obviously
used for so you have a nice open back and it looks
like you're naked. You wear nice little bottoms
like bathing suits or something like that."
Even
with all the trade tricks, Daytime's lusty lovers
are professional actors who know how to make it
look real... and how hard can that be when you
love what you do.
And those sexy scenes happen a lot in daytime.
A recent study says that during the typical soap
opera hour we see six sexual encounters.
